In 2018, Ryan's grandmother became completly blind and when Ryan and his family visited India in the summer 2018 he witnessed first hand the struggles of the visually impaired. Highschool Seniors Ryan and Aryan from Watchung Hills Regional Highschool, New Jersey came up with the idea for a hardware device that can utilize computer vision to aid the visually impaired including Ryan's grandmother. They spent the summer of junior year designing and testing the idea and during the school year they realized that the project had more potentional than a reseaerch project and made it into a fullfledged product.
Ryan plans to stuyd CS and buisness in college and Aryan plans to study Computer engineering. They both are invested into further development and markeitng of Helios in the future.
